Presentación
  • Miguel Ángel Rodríguez García received a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Murcia and an Ms degree in Computer Engineering from the same university. During his doctoral studies, he specialized in various research areas, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), Knowledge Representation (KR), and Semantic Web (SW). He also spent four months at the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, where he applied Semantic Technologies in Software Engineering and Health.

After he obtained an International Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, following which he received a PostDoc fellowship to work at the Computational Bioscience Research Center (CBRC) in Saudi Arabia. During this fellowship, he dedicated two years to working intensively on biological problems such as protein-gene interactions and semantic mapping of phenotypes.

In 2017, he relocated to Madrid after obtaining a visiting professorship at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC). He taught a variety of subjects in several official computer science programs for almost two semesters until he was awarded the "Atracción Talento" fellowship by Comunidad Madrid. During the fellowship, he began working on a new research line, Operational Research. After two years of fellowship, he was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Sciences at URJC.

His research interests include Natural Language Processing and its application in several areas like emotion analysis, and author profiling; Semantic Web technologies for Knowledge Representation, Bioinformatics, and Applied Ontology.
