  • Ángel Luis Álvarez  founded and leads the OOG group at URJC since 2004. He is currently Full Professor in Electronics, with almost 30 years of experience in Solid-State Electronics, author of 22 publications in JCR in the last 10 years (304 cites between 2013-20), co-inventor of 5 patents (2 with international extension), award to the best business idea (Technical University of Madrid, 2012), Member of the European Observatory of Organic Electronics (2010-2013), Chair of the Spanish Conference of Electron Devices, IEEE member since 2002, and reviewer of a variety of international publications (e.g., Appl. Phys. Lett., Solid State Electron., IEEE Sensors, IEEE Trans. Electron. Dev., J. Appl. Phys., J. Opt. A.).

    Research career:
    [1992-1993] Predoctoral at Fraunhofer Institute in Freiburg;
    [1994] Predoctoral at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre in the Imperial College in London;
    [1996] PhD with highest honors at Technical University of Madrid;
    [1998-2003] Associate Professor at Universidad Miguel Hernandez, Alicante, Spain;
    [1998 -2018] Associate Professor at URJC;
    [2018 -] Full Professor in Electronics at URJC.

    Research expertise and relevant skills:
     Full Professor in Electronics; Manufacturing of organic optoelectronic devices; Micro- and nano- structuring of thin film conducting layers by Local functionalization, and arc ¿ erosion; numerical simulation and modelling of electronic devices; electronics and novel applications of Graphene and 2D materials; optical and electrical spectroscopy of devices and materials.

    Supervision experience and funding: Participant in 23 competitive research projects (of which 6 European), and 7 as IP, of which 2 granted EXPLORA (highest competitive call within the National Research Program in Spain). Supervisor of 4 PhD Thesis (1 in progress), 4 MSc theses and 10 Bsc theses.
