  • I am a Distinguished Researcher Lecturer at the Center for Intelligent Information Technologies and their Applications (CETINIA) of the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain, as part of the Beatriz Galindo excellence initiative of the Spanish Ministry of Universities.

Previously, I was an Associate Professor ("Maître de Conférences", qualified by the "Conseil National des Universités" (CNU) 27 - Informatique) at the URIA team, L'école nationale supérieure Mines-Télécom Lille Douai (IMT Lille Douai), University of Lille in France.

My scientific work relates to Artificial Intelligence and Combinatorial Optimization distributed and decentralized coordination and decision-making approaches for decentralized Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). These are the physical systems in which software components located on networked computers, robots or other embedded systems coordinate their actions by exchanging information through wireless networks and Internet without any access to a shared memory. They are the prevailing software architecture on the Internet. In the long run, they are the means to sustainable design and scalability in large and complex physical systems whose components are owned by mutually different stakeholders.

I apply my research to resolving societal challenges including smart and green transport, emergency management, and multi-robot coordination. More information at my personal webpage
