  • Michael Stich studied Physics at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Universidad de Granada. He wrote the doctoral thesis in the Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft in Berlin under the supervision of Prof. A.S. Mikhailov and obtained his doctoral degree in 2003 from Technische Universität Berlin. From 2003-2013, he worked as researcher in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the Centro de Astrobiología (CSIC/INTA), and Harvard University. From 2013 till 2019, he was Lecturer, later Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at Aston University, Birmingham, UK, where he also held the positions of Programme Director Mathematics and Deputy Head of Mathematics. Since 2019 he works at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, since 2023 as Profesor Contratado Doctor in Mathematics. His research interests are: (1) mathematical modelization of dynamical biological and chemical systems; (2) nonlinear dynamics and pattern formation; (3) RNA, molecular evolution, antimicrobial resistance, and the origin of life. He is member of the Spanish network "Nonlinear Dynamics in Biophysical Systems".
