  • Joan Barceló received the B.Sc degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) in 2009, the M.Sc degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Balearic Islands (UIB) in 2013 and Ph.D degree from the University of Balearic Islands (UIB) in 2019 with a thesis which tackles the nonlinear features and dynamic response of CMOS-MEMS resonators and their application as bistable systems and chaotic signal generators. 

    Once finished the doctoral period, Joan Barceló obtained a postdoctoral researcher position at CEA-Leti in Grenoble (France), developing high frequency performance oscillators (for time reference applications) based on acoustic resonators and optomechanically transduced MEMS. Later Joan Barceló worked as a Test Engineer for Kyocera-Technologies based in Finland, a leading R&D company dedicated to MEMS resonator for the global timing and frequency control market. 

    Joan Barceló has focused, as researcher, on innovative and attractive topics as MEMS resonators and sensors, Nonlinear and Chaotic Dynamics, and Artificial Fuzzy-Neural Networks. The results of his research work have been published in important international indexed journals as well as in prestigious international conferences.

    Currently Joan Barceló works as Assistant Professor at King Juan Carlos University in Madrid in the area of Aerospace Engineering.
