  • Carlos Arias Alcaide got his Mathematics Degree at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, in 2018. His Final Project of Degree, supervised by Amparo Baíllo Moreno and Davide Barbieri, was about reproducing the process of analysis in Radiomics (machine learning techniques applied to medical scanner images).

    In 2020, he received the Decision Systems Engineering Master at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. In his Master Thesis, he applied machine learning techniques to time series data from the business field. The work was supervised by Ana Elizabeth García Sipols, Clara Simón de Blas and Esther García Gonzaléz.

    Currently, Carlos is a PhD student in the Spanish Interuniversity Program in Multimedia and Communications (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos). His PhD Thesis supervisors are Inmaculada Mora Jiménez and Cristina Soguero Ruiz. He is currently working on the design of machine learning approaches to the prediction of the health-status progression of chronic patients.

    He worked almost for two years as data analyst in companies from different sectors (online payments, energy and telecommunications). He has received more than 300 hours of training about programming in different languages and he has the Productivity and Personal Developing Master from Universidad de Alcalá (training about soft skills as communication, leadership or creativity). He is also teacher of R Shiny on the course ¿Estadística Aplicada con R¿ organized by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
